Footprints on Water–Aditi Mangaldas Dance Company, India
The Aditi Mangaldas Dance Company-Drishtikon Dance Foundation has performed extensively in India and across the globe. The five dancers and three musicians use their bodies, voices, instruments, and various props to interweave rhythms and sounds, with Aditi leading an “explosive tour of the body’s ability to make music” (The Scotsman). Vietnam: Destination for the New Millennium—The Art of Dinh Q. Lê
Few artists have experienced such a varied journey as Dinh Q. Lê. Born in a small village in Vietnam on the Cambodian border, he immigrated with his family to the U.S. via Thailand and later returned to Vietnam where he has lived for nearly ten years. Produced over a seven-year period, the works in this contemporary exhibition reflect the multiple perspectives of his background and the conflicts—both personal and political—of Vietnamese, American and Vietnamese American points of view.

Music and Dance of Myanmar (Burma)
Asia Society, in conjunction with Lotus Music and Dance, invited an extraordinary group of 9 musicians and 3 dancers to present Myanmar’s (Burma) extraordinary music and dance tradition. Exhibiting the tradition’s colorful palette, the program features
elegant chamber music, which consists of traditional Burmese instruments such as saung gauk (harp) and patala (xylophone), as well as Western instruments that have been incorporated into Burmese music, including piano (sandeya) and slide guitar with their own unique techniques developed around them.
Dance: The Spirit of Cambodia
A project of the Royal University of Fine Arts, Phonm Penh, this website presents information on classical and folk dance and music from Cambodia resulting from a 12-city national tour. Find video clips, photo gallery, and Cambodian resource links.
Resources on Iran
Asia Society's exhibition Hunt for Paradise: Court Arts of Iran, 1501–1576,
takes a rare look at the Golden Age of the arts in Iran. Access information

Buddhist Art and The Trade Routes
This essay, illustrated by objects from the Asia Society Museum's permanent collection,
the Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller 3rd collection, provides a base for
exploring the development of Indian Buddhist imagery and its interpretation and
adaptation by other cultures along the trade routes. An examination of the works
illustrated here will reveal some connections as well as distinctions between
Indian Buddhist sculptures and their counterparts across Asia.
