They belong to a de-notified (ex-criminal tribes) tribe who keep moving from town to town. Their mother sells beads of flowers to tourists and the father is unemployed. The children belong to a family of stonecutters but the tradition has long since been abandoned due to the forced departure from their village by the higher castes.
