Migrant women usually work as house maids while men do a variety of jobs - ranging from driving rented auto-rickshaws to working as shopkeeper assistants, couriers, servicemen and so on. More women have employment in this settlement than the men and it is the women who ensure a somewhat stable income every month. Domestic violence and increasing health problems in children is a growing trend.
