For Asia watchers, 2004 promises to be the year of politics. No less than seven elections will be held in 2004, including in - Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, India, the Philippines, Afghanistan, Indonesia, and Australia. Each election brings with it unique domestic economic and political consequences-and new forms of political risk and new implications for the Asian region and the U.S, which too will hold an important Presidential election in November.

The Asia Society will host Elections 2004: The Changing Face of Asia?, a series of informal discussions with experts who will assess the key election outcomes, focusing on economic and policy implications. AsiaSource's online edition will present special reports, interviews, and transcripts of these discussions. We also invite our web audience to participate in Q&A sessions at our upcoming programs. Submit your questions ahead of time to Web Editor. In your email, please specify what program your question is for. Selected ones will be posted online.
