NEW YORK, October 22, 1999 – AsiaSource (http://www.asiasource.org), a new online resource developed by the Asia Society, has produced a comprehensive special report on AIDS in Asia to correspond with the meeting of the 5th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific in Malaysia, October 23–27.

This special report offers a compilation of analyses, news articles, and links on AIDS in Asia, providing an overview of the medical, economic, political and cultural issues surrounding the epidemic. Find specific HIV/AIDS information on women, the gay movement in Asia, the economics of the disease, and human rights issues.

The report also includes an AsiaSource interview with Dr. Chris Beyrer, Director of the Fogarty AIDS International Training and Research Program, as well as links to country specific data for numerous Asian countries.
